Does your Home Have a cavity
For cavity insulation to work you need a good clean cavity, free from damp and clear from builders mortar , rubble , brick or other items that would hinder the install process. A surveyor will visit your home and check to see if you home has a suitable cavity. They do this by drilling a few holes into the brickwork and inserting a borescope (Image on the left) .
Damp Course
For a home to be suitable it needs to have a damp course normally installed when the house was built a DPC can normally be seen as a black line around 1-2 bricks above base. However sometimes it is covered by render or simply to low to be seen or not installed at all.
